Project Description:

Information and Document Systems is a global technology change and delivery organization comprising nearly 200 individuals located mostly in Switzerland, Poland and Singapore. Providing global capturing and document processing, archiving and retrieval solutions to all business divisions focusing on supporting Legal, Regulatory and Operational functions. At the moment developing strategic greenfield project to build large-scale digital archive for documents and records, that will gradually replace all existing archiving solutions in the bank, and to build an operational document store, that should become a single point of truth for document workflows. The whole system must scale linearly, be fault-tolerant, and handle petabytes of data.

Technologies used:

  • 100% Scala using Functional Programming (FP),
  • Event Driven Architecture with Kafka as event store and Kafka Streams for event streaming,
  • Reactive streams for streaming data over HTTP: Akka HTTP/Streams,
  • Non-blocking concurrency: Akka, Monix,
  • FP abstractions: Cats,
  • Developed by several teams using Scrum
  • Core of data storage layer based on HCP Hitachi Content Platform & HCI Hitachi Content Intelligence
Responsibilities
  • Understand related business context, processes and surroundings and cultural specifics which are relevant for planning of each archive transition bundle
  • Build and maintain a program-aligned planning framework for a transition project, including separate plans per transition bundle (in close collaboration with Stream managers) based on the source content analysis and the generic milestone compilation
  • Execute archive transition projects based on transition bundle plan(s) and ensure required deliveries of supporting streams are ready on time
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships to key business stakeholders (Records creators and Records consumers - where specifically agreed)
  • Coordinate with local business stakeholder needs / constraints and collaborate with business integration where possible
  • Oversee and manage dependencies, risks, issues and assumptions related to transition bundles in close collaboration with overall program master planner
  • Communicate to stakeholders aligned with our communication strategy and plan
  • Build and lead the archive transition project team (where necessary)
Skills
  • Managed at least one complex business transition/roll out project with global scope in UBS
  • Good understanding of our global organizational structure and key functions and a good network within one or more UBS divisions and/or corporate center functions
  • Strong project management skills and experienced in project execution/facilitation
  • An accurate coordinator and planner who actively incorporates assumptions, risks and dependencies in any version of the plan
  • Good technical understanding of the corresponding legacy archive space
